Good Neighbor Team

September 28th - December 31st, 2018

A Good Neighbor Team is a ministry of friendship. Good Neighbor Teams work in partnership with World Relief to welcome and support resettled refugees in Atlanta. Good Neighbor Teams walk alongside newly resettled refugees for six months and commit to having someone from the team visit the refugee family at least once every week. All Good Neighbor Team members (typically there is at least six team members) must complete a background check and volunteer training with World Relief before the team can be paired with a refugee.

If you already have a group of at least six people who want to form a Good Neighbor Team, simply designate a leader who can serve as the primary communicator and have that person contact Sarah Burke at World Relief. Her email is sburke@wr.org. She can coordinate with you concerning the orientation training and the initial volunteer paperwork. She is also the person who connects teams with resettled refugees. We also suggest you go ahead and establish both a text and email thread among your group so that you can coordinate easily with one another.

If, on the other hand, you are a single individual who wants to be connected with other Trinity members for the purposes of forming a new Good Neighbor Team, please fill out this form by clicking “Register Now” in the box on the right. This will take you through a brief series of questions, register your answers, and add your name to a list of other interested participants. Once Trinity staff are able to identify at least six individuals who want to form a Good Neighbor Team, those six people will be put in touch with one another to coordinate the process from there. If you are signing up on your own, consider asking other friends to also consider registering as that will speed up the process of forming a new team.

Thank you for your interest in Good Neighbor Teams!
